About Dr. Shane Kibbe
Shane Kibbe, MD, MSBS, BA, of Kentucky Orthopedics & Sports Medicine, obtained a Bachelor of Science from Johns Hopkins University in 2007 and a Master of Science from the University of Toledo in 2008. He received his medical degree from the University of Toledo in 2012.
He completed his residency training with the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Louisville from 2012 to 2017. He then did a yearlong fellowship in Sports Medicine at Beacon Orthopedics, in Cincinnati, from 2017 to 2018. During his time at Beacon Orthopedics, he served as a team physician for the Cincinnati Reds, Morehead State University Athletics, and with Archbishop Moeller High School.
Dr. Kibbe currently has two private clinic locations in Mount Washington and Bardstown, KY. He offers surgical services in Bullitt County, Louisville, Lebanon and Bardstown, KY for patients in the community and surrounding areas.
He has authored articles in several prestigious medical journals and has made many presentations at leading Orthopedic conferences domestically and internationally.
He is a Candidate for Membership in the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and is an Active Member of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine.
In his spare time, Dr. Kibbe, enjoys spending time with his wife, son, and dog. His wife, Lauren, is an Orthopedic Hand surgeon with the Norton hospital system in Louisville, KY. They enjoy traveling and outdoor activities and are avid sports fans. Both played college sports, with Dr. Kibbe a member of the Johns Hopkins football team from 2003-2006. While his wife played college soccer at Iowa State. Dr. Kibbe’s favorite sports teams include the Cincinnati Reds, Cincinnati Bengals, Arsenal Football Club, and Penn State Nittany Lions.
